A Recap of 2022

2022 was chockful of crazy.

But that’s kind of become standard operating procedure over the past few years, and I’ll admit that I’m learning to roll with it.  There was a little travel to a new place, a great girls’ weekend with friends, and another wonderful writers’ retreat at the beach. Of course, there was also stress, angst, burnout, and illness, but we’re sweeping the yuck under the rug and focusing on the positive. And the positive is always BOOKS!

Let’s first take a look at what came out in 2022.

The year started off with the final book of the Weavers CircleStorm Warrior, which I wrote with Rinda Elliott.  We had a lot of fun with those characters and I’m glad we could finally get them to their HEA.

While we’re talking collaborations and paranormal, I’m excited that AJ Sherwood and I launched the Wings ‘N Wands spin-off series. If you loved the fire dragons from the Scales ‘N Spells series, then it times for the ice dragons to shine. Dawn is a free prequel short story to kick off the series, and Ruins is the first full-length novella.

Sticking with fantasy, I was soooo sad to say goodbye to the boys of the Godstone Saga. The final three books of the series were released in 2022. I loved working on Rayne, Drayce, Caelan, and Eno.

If you’ve been waiting to start the series until it was complete, now is the time to dive in. The reading order is:

Steal the Wind

Breath of Life

Wake the Dead

Wings of Fire

Embrace the Light

City of Blood

Leaving fantasy behind, I dove back into romantic suspense with the Shadow Elite series. This is a spin-off from my Exit Strategy (assassins) series and you will see cameo appearances in the Shadow Elite books.

Stephen’s Translator just released this month and it is the prequel novella for the series. It was previously available as part of the Your Book Boyfriend’s Boyfriend Giveaway and is now on Amazon with the exact same content.

Charlie’s Doctor and Kairo’s Billionaire are now available.

And finally…. my secret release. My secret book.

Ren’s Song ended up being my secret passion project for 2022. I wasn’t expecting to write it, but these two characters really wanted their story to be told.  Ren’s Song is about two actors who fall in love while on the set of a drama they are filming together. Their romance, if discovered, could destroy their careers and their lives. But this love is worth fighting for.

It is a slow burn, super sweet, low angst contemporary romance — all things that really don’t fit the typical Jocelynn Drake style, so I created a new pen name. I hope you give my little experiment a try.

Now, are you caught up with all the 2022 releases?
