Watch Out for Vampires

We’re in the best month of the year, and I’m not just saying that because it’s my birth month. No, October is the best month because it brings with it colored leaves, pumpkins, crackling fires, soft sweaters…and so many spooky things.

My husband thinks that last one is hilarious because I won’t watch horror movies, but I love ghost stories, vampires, shifters, and magic.

And after a five-year break, I’m finally returning to my vampire roots.

When I was first published, my initial series was about vampires. The very violent kind.

Mira was a cranky, violent vampire who was long used to her own kind being afraid of her. It was only understandable that she was attracted to the one vampire hunter who wasn’t afraid of her.

The Dark Days series was so much fun to write. Anything was possible. There were vast conspiracies and twisted alliances and horrible betrayals. And travel. So much travel.

While I have loved working on the Unbreakable Bonds, Ward Security, Pineapple Grove, and Exit Strategy series, I wanted to get back to the vampires and the creatures that go bump in the night. They missed me and I missed them.

That’s why I’ve created a new vampire series. This one is MM paranormal romance. The series is called the Lords of Discord and the first book is CLAIMING MARCUS, which will be out on October 31.

Here’s a quick description of the book:

Vampires slaughtered my family.

No one believed me until I met some new friends, who promised to help me get justice.

But nothing prepared me for Marcus Varik.

Tall, dark, and mind-numbingly sexy.

But he’s also shy, protective, and adorably eccentric.

Oh God, I should have never agreed to betray him.

Hopefully, it’s not too late to fix my mistake before I lose more people I love.

Claiming Marcus is the first book in an MM paranormal romance series that has vampires, betrayal, annoying brothers, music, heartbreak, hope, sexy times, and a raven named Ozzie.

The official cover reveal will be on October 17, so keep an eye out for the pretty cover!

As we lead up to the release of the book, I’ll be giving more information about Marcus Varik and his very interesting brothers.

  1. Just finished Claiming Marcus…..I’ve never been a fan of the paranormal, (can’t, won’t watch horror movies, zombies, etc), but because this was Ms. Drake, I took a chance…got freaked out a few times with the blood and gore, but I’m ready for the next installment?….thanks for sharing your word wizardry with us!

    1. Thank you so much! I’m so glad that you enjoyed it! I am not a fan of horror movies, but I’ve got such a weakness for vampires. 🙂

  2. I wanted to say that I so enjoyed reading both the Lords if Discord books!! Marcus and Ethan were so sweet and perfect balance to each other the story kept me on a marathon read not wanting to put it down!!! Rafe and Phillipe were just a beautiful compliment to one another, light and dark but in the best ways. I can’t wait to read Bel and Winter’s stories their uniqueness will definitely require a special person to be their partner! Thank you for sharing your talent with us a great escape especially during these trying times!?
