Part Two: The Honeymoon

Rayne woke slowly.

His head was incredibly fuzzy, and it seemed to be taking far longer than usual for his brain to organize even the most basic thoughts. What had happened? The last thing he even remembered was drinking a toast with Caelan, Drayce, Adrian, and his new husband.

His wedding!

He’d gotten married.

His eyes popped open to find that not only was he alone in bed, but he was not in his bed.

Where the fuck was he?

How did he—

They’d drugged him. Those bastards he lovingly called family had drugged him. On. His. Wedding. Night. He was going to kill them. This shouldn’t have even been possible because of his tie to the Goddess of Life. He could only guess that Caelan had struck a deal with her or maybe found some other way around her gift.

Those sneaky bastards!

Soft footsteps dragged Rayne from his circling thoughts. His fists tightened in the thick blankets that covered his lower half, but he relaxed again when Eno walked in very carefully holding a large mug with steam rising from the top. Almost instantly, the glorious scent of coffee filled the room.

“Before you lose your shit, drink this.” Eno placed a knee on the empty side of the bed and extended the mug to Rayne.

It pained him to not automatically take it from his husband. He stared sullenly at it. “Is that drugged too?”

“No, it’s not drugged,” Eno replied patiently. To prove it, he took a sip and winced. “Bitter.”

Rayne grunted and reached for the mug with both hands. Eno drank his coffee with twice the amount of sugar Rayne used. He took a delicate test sip and once he determined the temperature was tolerable, he took a larger drink.

Heat and caffeine poured into his brain, washing away the last of the cobwebs and getting all the gears turning.

“Did they drug you too?” Rayne inquired now that his thoughts were growing more ordered and he could prioritize matters.

“No.”

“Just me?”

“Yes.”

“Why? Why would they do this? Did you know about this evil plan?”

Eno leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Rayne’s temple as he sat down beside him on the bed. “For a very good reason, and yes, I knew. I wasn’t thrilled about it, but I agreed it was the best solution.”

“What? How was that the best solution? We missed our wedding night.” He had to still be dreaming. None of it was making any sense.

“Baby, it’s okay. It was the only way to get you away, and we still have an entire month together to make up for one night.” As Eno spoke, he was pressing kisses along Rayne’s jaw and his throat. Each kiss chipped away at Rayne’s shock and anger until they were just dying embers in danger of being completely smothered.

Mn. Maybe. Where are we?” he grumbled.

“Finish your coffee, and I’ll show you.”

Rayne glared at Eno’s secretive grin as he took another big swallow of coffee. When the mug was nearly empty, he thrust it at Eno, which only made the man chuckle.

Rayne threw off the covers, grabbed his glasses off the nightstand, and climbed out of bed. It was only now that he looked down at himself to find he was wearing a pair of navy blue pajamas. Part of him wanted to cry. It was the morning after his wedding. He should have woken naked, covered in dried sweat, cum, and love bites.

“Put on your slippers,” Eno admonished, sounding as if he were barely holding in his laughter.

Rayne located a pair of matching, fur-lined slippers just his size on his side of the bed. He shoved his feet into them and bit back a sigh of pleasure. They were wonderful.

But none of this made sense. It was the middle of summer. Where could they be that was so cold? And to have traveled there in just a night? The Caspagir mountains had snow year-round at the peaks, but it was several days of travel to reach there from Stormbreak.

Eno took Rayne’s hand in one of his and led him out of the bedroom and down a short hall to a great room with a lovely sitting area that opened straight into a large kitchen. The wood accents were warm, and the color palette was simple and soft. Everything about the place was comfortable and inviting and vaguely familiar, but he wasn’t sure why.

Outside the windows, he caught glimpses of green pine needles and blue sky.

As they passed a large sofa, Eno snagged a blanket off the back. Before Rayne could ask about it, Eno was opening the front door. A brisk wind blew inside, slicing straight through his pajamas, but Eno pulled and Rayne followed.

The cold was forgotten when he stepped onto the porch and was greeted with lush green pine trees and snow-covered mountains that nearly blotted out the sky. Rayne stepped up to the railing, his heart in his throat as he soaked in the majestic beauty around them.

“Where?” he breathed, afraid to fracture the delicate beauty. There was only faint birdsong and the hush of the wind threading through the fir and pine trees.

Eno came up behind him, wrapping them both up in the blanket. His new husband nuzzled his neck and murmured three words he never expected to hear. “Isle of Stone.”

“What?” Rayne squawked. To hell with protecting the peace and serenity. He tried to push out of Eno’s arms so he could face the man—no! The Traitor! But Eno only tightened his hold, trapping him in place.

“As a wedding gift, Clan leader Omari Nori has offered us his private retreat cabin for our honeymoon. We’re three hours from Clan Omari by car and completely alone. There’s a lake for fishing, hiking trails, and a hot spring on one of the trails. We have enough food for two weeks, and more can be brought with a single phone call. We can stay here for the entire month if you want. Just the two of us. However, I was thinking we’d stay for a week or two, and then go stay with Clan Omari so we could explore more of the island.”

Rayne stood frozen. He was completely overwhelmed. It was an astounding gift. Stunning. It was too much. He couldn’t believe they were staying in the private hideaway of the head of the Omari. Eno had been content to hand all decisions regarding their wedding over to Rayne. He’d just asked that he be permitted to plan their honeymoon.

Rayne was in awe.

But his brain kept zeroing in on one snag.

“How did we get here?” Rayne inquired.

Eno sighed, his breath ruffling his hair. “You know how we got here. We flew. Mika was kind enough to bring us here last night.”

“Oh gods,” Rayne moaned, his heart skipping in his chest. Could he have a retroactive heart attack?

Eno spun him around and cupped one cheek with his big hand. “Baby, please don’t be angry. I didn’t like the idea of drugging you, but I just remember how much you hated flying back to Stormbreak from the Ordas. I didn’t want to put you through that again. Not on our wedding night. And I wanted us to truly get away from everything. Just us for as long as we are able. Because of our duties, we may never have another chance like this.”

Dammit.

He wanted to be angry, but he was melting into a puddle of useless goo. His sweet, considerate husband had planned the perfect honeymoon for them and then made sure he could reach it as painlessly as possible. While he wasn’t fond of the idea of being drugged, he was so very glad that Eno hadn’t allowed him to miss out on this opportunity.

Rayne placed his hands on Eno’s chest, feeling his lover’s heart race under his fingertips. He needed to fix that.

“If you weren’t drugged, does that mean you were holding me tight the entire flight?” Rayne asked softly.

“Every second of it,” Eno swore. “Mika was very careful the entire way here. Omari Megumi also flew right beside us the whole time to make sure there were no problems.”

“Omari Megumi? Haru’s sister? The dragon next in line to take over Clan Omari accompanied us?” He was going to have another heart attack. That was not a task for someone of her standing and position.

“She volunteered, and Nori insisted.” Eno pressed a light kiss to the corner of his mouth. “You are a precious treasure and must be protected.”

Rayne narrowed his eyes on Eno and heaved a dramatic sigh. “Wicked man. You’re making it impossible to be mad at you.”

His lover and heart hummed as he leaned in and nuzzled his neck. “I’ve learned from the best.”

Rayne tried to turn his head to steal a kiss, but the wind picked up, cutting through all the layers. He shivered and huddled closer to shield himself from the cold. He was definitely underdressed for being outside in this cool air.

“How about breakfast?” Eno offered, already pulling him to the front door.

“Yes, that sounds like an excellent idea. I’m starved,” Rayne agreed, a smirk forming on his lips.

Yet, as Eno got them inside and started to walk toward the kitchen, Rayne grabbed Eno’s hand in both of his and pulled him to the bedroom.

“In the mood for something other than bacon and eggs?” Eno teased as he followed with a wide grin on his face.

Rayne merely hummed. As he reached his side of the bed, he kicked off the fur-lined slippers and quickly attacked the buttons on his nightshirt. The slight chill in the air nipped at his flesh the second the fabric fell away, but he barely noticed it when he caught sight of Eno staring at him as though he planned to devour every inch of his body.

He slid into bed, set his glasses on the nightstand, and blinked at his somewhat out-of-focus husband. “Care to work up an appetite with me?”

Eno didn’t answer. He just ripped his long-sleeved shirt up and over his head, tossing it aside as he crawled closer to his target from the foot of the bed.

Their lips met in a scorching kiss that sucked the air from Rayne’s lungs. He moaned into Eno’s mouth and allowed his new husband to push him backward onto the pile of pillows waiting for him. Why did it feel like it had been days or even weeks since he’d last kissed this man? The wedding yesterday had been a glorious dream, but they’d barely seen each other. And, of course, all the planning and preparation leading up to the wedding on top of their usual duties had stretched their time together until it was paper thin.

But now they were completely alone. No ministers or dignitaries demanding his attention. No royal guards or military leaders wanting just one minute with Eno. No kings. No dragons. No gods.

Just the two of them.

Wrapping his arms around Eno’s shoulders, he slid his hands along his muscular back, reveling in the feel of all that warm, silken skin. He loved the power of this man, the way he could so easily hold Rayne down and leave him feeling so wonderfully helpless. Rayne had no choice but to hand all of himself over to Eno, and he loved it.

Eno broke off the kiss to move his lips to Rayne’s chin and across his throat. He licked his Adam’s Apple before nibbling it lightly. Rayne hummed with pleasure while dragging his hands up to tangle in Eno’s thick black hair.

His husband continued to work his way lower, pausing to show ample appreciation to each of Rayne’s nipples until they were hard little nubs straining toward him.

He loved every bit of Eno’s thorough worship of his body, but he was working his way to the really good bits far too slowly. Plus, he was concerned with Eno placing too much weight on his right arm for too long. With the help of physical therapists, Eno had regained some strength in his arm, but still not enough to comfortably wield a sword. And Rayne definitely didn’t want him to injure himself during sex.

No, there were far too many interesting positions they could explore that would allow them to find pleasure while Eno rested his arm.

With a growl, Rayne dug his heels into the bed, gaining the leverage he needed to roll Eno onto his back while Rayne straddled his hips.

Happily, Eno didn’t appear upset by this new arrangement. A knowing smirk lifted one corner of his lips and laughter twinkled in his warm brown eyes. “Getting impatient?”

“Maybe a little. Or maybe I’m just getting hungry.” Rayne scooted down and caught the edge of Eno’s sweat pants and underwear with his fingers, pulling both down to reveal a beautiful, hard cock that looked so very happy to see him.

Eno lifted his hips to allow him to lower his clothes to his thighs. Rayne was not about to let such an opportunity pass him by. As those hips rose, Rayne dipped his body, sucking the head of Eno’s dick into his mouth. Eno’s entire body froze as if he were afraid that Rayne would suddenly stop what he was doing.

“Gods, baby,” Eno groaned. He collapsed onto the mattress and Rayne followed him down.

With the clothes out of his way, he ran his hands up his lover’s narrow hips, fingers teasing the soft divot by his hip bones before moving across his stomach. He caressed every inch of his lover he could reach while bobbing slowly on that perfect cock. He relished the feel of Eno in his mouth, from the velvety touch of his skin to the luxurious weight of him. But it was the sounds rising from Eno’s throat, the tiny thrusts that Eno couldn’t quite stop that drove him crazy. He wanted to bring Eno to the brink of losing control.

His own dick was throbbing, aching, and demanding his attention, but he ignored it. He’d get his turn soon enough. For now, he was completely content making his lover, his husband desperate.

Rayne took him deeper, loosening his jaw and sucking his lover down until he touched the back of his throat.

A low growl was his only warning before fingers painfully tightened in his hair and pulled him up enough that he was forced to release Eno.

“I’m too close,” Eno snarled.

Rayne looked up at his husband and made a dirty show of licking his lips. “I’m happy to finish you this way.”

“No. I want to be inside of your ass. Want to watch my dick sliding into you.” Eno’s voice was low and gravelly, causing Rayne’s working brain cells to blink out of existence, one after another.

Eno reached over with a hand and dug into the nightstand until he came up with a bottle of lube. He flashed his own wicked grin at Rayne and lifted his hand from Rayne’s hair. “Turn to face the opposite direction, but stay straddling me exactly like you are.”

Rayne could feel the confusion flash across his features as he shoved off his pants and positioned himself exactly as Eno instructed. A shiver ran down his spine at the sound of the plastic cap being popped open. He glanced over his shoulder, watching as Eno smeared lube onto his fingers before placing the bottle aside.

A slick finger briefly massaged his entrance, then pushed inside. Rayne sucked in a breath and whipped his head around to face forward while his fingers tightly gripped the sheets under them.
He balanced on his knees just enough to keep his weight off Eno’s legs. It also meant he could rock backward on Eno’s finger, slowly fucking himself on that thick digit.

“Mmm…you ready for more, baby?” Eno hummed.

Rayne dropped his head and gasped. “Yes. Please, yes.”

On the next thrust, a second finger entered him. There was a bite of pain. They’d not been having sex frequently in the past couple of months due to their mutual workloads, but Rayne was quickly loosening with each rock of his body.

As he moved, his dick and balls rubbed against Eno’s hard cock, sending an additional frisson of pleasure skipping through his body until he was barely able to form a coherent thought.

“Enough. I’m ready,” Rayne panted. He couldn’t take much more. He was going to come like this if they didn’t stop soon.

For once, Eno didn’t argue with him. He removed his fingers and grabbed the bottle of lube again. Rayne leaned forward, lifting his body enough to allow Eno to coat his dick.

“Fuck,” Eno growled. “So sexy. Everything about you is so amazingly sexy. Perfect ass and the line of your spine. I can’t wait to see my dick inside of you.”

“Then hurry,” Rayne gasped. Just Eno’s words alone had made his dick jerk and throb. He wanted to come so fucking bad and the images Eno was putting into his head were driving him crazy.

“There. Sit.” Eno grunted as the slick head of his cock brushed across his cheeks.

Rayne scooted a little, his fingers still tightly clenching the sheets as he pressed backward, allowing the head to stretch his hole. Pain had him gritting his teeth, but he kept moving slowly, taking more of him inch by slow inch. Eno’s groans and low curses urged him on.

Both of Eno’s hands gripped his ass cheeks, spreading them so that he felt utterly exposed under his lover’s hot gaze. He glanced over his shoulder to find Eno’s face flushed and his lips parted on a pant while his eyes remained locked on where their bodies were joined.

They had never tried this position before, and it somehow felt hotter and dirtier. Even as he sank down on Eno’s cock, the penetration seemed deeper, the angle leaving him struggling to suck in a breath. He wanted to fucking come, but he hadn’t even begun moving on Eno’s dick yet.

“How’s that feel, baby? You like that?” Eno demanded the second Rayne was fully seated. Eno’s pubic hair brushed against his hole, and Rayne could feel the heat of his balls against his own.

“Gods, Eno. So full. So deep. It’s…it’s like I can taste you in the back of my throat.”

“Ride me. I wanna watch you fuck yourself on my dick.”

Rayne could only manage a desperate nod. He was past words now. It took him only a minute or two to find a comfortable way of moving, but he sank into the rhythm with Eno’s fingers digging deep into his ass while he rose and fell on that thick cock.

Little electric shocks ran through his entire frame starting from deep inside of his ass. Nothing had ever felt so good in his life. It was a struggle to even breathe. But with each breath, a new, needy sound rose from his throat. He couldn’t even form words any longer. They were just sounds of begging and pure ecstasy.

“Please. Please. Please.” It was all he could manage in the end.

“Jerk yourself. I want to feel you coming on my dick,” Eno ordered.

Rayne hesitated for half a second. Part of him was desperate to come, but he was already so sensitive. His dick ached. The idea of touching it seemed almost painful. But he wrapped his long fingers around his leaking cock, using his own pre-cum as lube.

He needed to stroke himself only a few times before he was screaming Eno’s name. His entire body spasmed, muscles clenching Eno’s member so fucking tight. Eno’s fingers gripped him even tighter and he fucked him wildly through the orgasm, their bodies bouncing on the mattress until the creaks could almost be heard over both their shouts.

Rayne was just starting to come down from his orgasm when he felt Eno swell inside of him, his body twitching and filling him with hot cum. Eno shouted, and part of Rayne soared again.

They collapsed together on the bed, a sweaty, cum-smeared mess. Rayne blinked and found himself lying wrapped in Eno’s arms, his head beside him on the same pillow. He wasn’t entirely sure how he’d gotten into that position, and he didn’t care. His ass was a little sore, but every muscle was utterly loose and relaxed.

“We might have done things in the wrong order,” Rayne admitted when he could get his brain working.

“What do you mean?” Eno asked, his lips moving along Rayne’s bare shoulder.

“Maybe we should have done food first. I’m hungry, but I don’t want to move. This feels too nice.”

“We can cuddle for a few more minutes, then get cleaned up. Food won’t take long to prepare.”

Smiling, Rayne turned in Eno’s arms so that he could rest his head on his husband’s chest. “Thank you,” he murmured with a happy sigh.

Eno huffed a soft laugh. “Anytime.”

“Not that, though it is appreciated. Thank you for making all these amazing arrangements. Thank you for always taking care of me. Thank you for always making me feel so cherished.”

One hand slid through his messy hair, pushing it from his forehead. Rayne opened his eyes to find the sweetest smile on Eno’s lips as he stared at him. “Like I said, anytime. You are my everything, Rayne. I only want you safe, happy, and healthy.”

“When I am with you, I am always that.”

Eno’s grin wilted a little and his gaze grew more serious. “I know I mentioned earlier that we could stay here for two weeks, but if you’d prefer to return to Stormbreak today or even tomorrow—”

“What?” Rayne gasped. He pushed himself upright so that he was half sitting up as he gazed into Eno’s eyes. “Why would we return home so early?”

“Prince Shey.”

Rayne glared at Eno for a second before dropping onto his chest. “I won’t lie and say that I’m not worried, but I refuse to allow my ex to disturb our honeymoon.”

Eno’s chest bounced his head with deep laughter. “I’m glad you won’t allow your ex to come between us, but Shey is also a friend as well as Erya’s closest and most important ally right now. Those are two very good reasons for us to return early.”

Every time he thought he couldn’t possibly love Eno any more, the man cooked up yet another reason. Those were damn good reasons.

“True, but what will my returning to Stormbreak help? Caelan has already sent a team to search for the prince. It’s not as if we can risk going ourselves. There is literally nothing that I can do about this situation at the moment except pace and complain.” Rayne smiled at his husband. “I think my time can be spent more productively here with you. Besides, Caelan knows where we are, right? If the world starts to end yet again, he can reach us and call us home.”

Eno cupped his cheek, pulling him close for a slow kiss. “Yes, he can.”

Rayne was always more than happy to serve the crown. But just this once, he wanted to put his attention into serving the man who owned his heart.
