If anyone tells you it gets easier after you’ve done it a few times, I want you to laugh. I would, but I’m just too darn exhausted. You’d think I wouldn’t get nerves or obsessively checking rankings or search for positive reviews or haunt social media praying that someone else has noticed that my book has been released … but I do.
This is my 10th novel release day. Unless you start counting the release day for the novellas…it’s the 14th… unless you count the fact that one book had 4 release days and then it’s 18th. Regardless of what you count, they all matter. That’s because I spend months working on a book. I spend more time with the characters than I do my own family. I worry about whether someone who spends their hard-earned money on my creation will be entertained. I worry about whether they will fall in love too.
At the end of the day, all you can do is write the best book you can and send it out into the world. And then start the next one. Or the next short story.
Shiver Is Out
I am so excited that Shiver is now available. We have been getting a very positive response from reviewers so far and I hope that means readers find the book. It is now available for Kindle, Nook, Kobo and Apple. I am hard at work on the print version and we are hoping to have that available before the end of November.
If you haven’t checked it out, here is a quick description:
Lucas Vallois is always in control. He’s building an empire in the glittering city of Cincinnati and created his own family from his three close friends. The self-made millionaire has everything he wants within his tight grasp. But his world starts to crumble after he’s jumped by a trio of thugs late one night after leaving a club. The warning is clear—give up his new property venture or end up dead.
Caving to the demands of his friends, Lucas accepts the help of bodyguard, Andrei Hadeon, as he hunts for the source of this new threat. But as Lucas gets closer to uncovering the danger, he realizes the sexy Romanian bodyguard poses an even bigger risk to his carefully constructed world. Trapped by a need he never expected, Lucas must find a way to deny the shiver of longing he cannot control.
His brother. His warrior. His heart. Four friends. Unbreakable bonds.
It is m/m contemporary romantic suspense, which means that it’s my standard action with more romance but no magic.
In addition, to celebrate Halloween, I have also written a free short story featuring the two main characters of Shiver. Who knew you could have so much fun carving pumpkins?!?! Click here to read the short story.
Just because Shiver is out doesn’t mean that my co-author Rinda Elliott and I are resting. We are hard at work on the sequel to Shiver and we hope to have the next book out in early 2016. In fact, you can get an early sneak peek of the second book at the end of Shiver as a special bonus.
But don’t worry. We are going to have plenty to hold you over until that book comes out. We have written a series of short stories that we will be releasing for free that follow Lucas and Andrei during the time period between Shiver and the second book.
